A concept film by Lord Fascinator and Georgina Hare created during Descover Artists Residency - Hydra, June 2023.
Part of a developing series of film works that elicit a sense of unease and phrenic inertia in the viewer.
The full piece is a 10 minute looping visual and audio installation. The unnerving score would consume and disorientate all who enter, having just passed under the real Apollo.
The Holiday uses Apollo as a portal back to antiquity when Hydra was a hub of war delivering death by sea. The dancer has leaped from a luxury yacht to an ancient sylvan trireme of lost souls and is either none the wiser or simply celebrates the spoils by dancing on the faceless reflections of the drowned.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Lord Fascinator is a renowned artist and composer. Previous art world endeavours include “The Fascinator Suite” a hotel room designed as a physical manifestation of the artist’s psyche in the infamous Carlton Arms Hotel (NYC) with a 24hr original score. “The Dome” at Dark MOFO (MoNA, Tasmania) and “Colournary” (Merida, Mexico) - a 12 course sensory adventure through a degustory rainbow of music, food and light.
Georgina Hare is a multidisciplinary visual artist, working as a professional dancer, choreographer and painter. Her art work has been featured in British Vogue and exhibitions in Europe, London and Australia. She has performed on live TV, music videos, feature films, and festivals for world renowned choreographers and directors including Danielle Polanco and Matt Reeves. Brands include BBC, Warner Brothers, Netflix, Agent Provocateur, Spotify, Boomtown festival 2022, as well as music artists Sigrid and Idles.
